“I think it’s nice to age gracefully. OK, you lose the youth, a certain stamina and dewy glow, but what you gain on the inside as a human being is wonderful: the wisdom, the acceptance and the peace of mind. It’s a fair exchange.” — Cherie Lunghi
Another year, another birthday. For awhile I had actually forgotten how old I was, until last year when I got a new job and everyone started asking how old I was and I had to do the math. I feel that after you pass that quarter of the century mark; how old you are starts to get less and less important.
This year it has been I would say it was quite a special one. For once I realize how important it is to work with people who care about you. Especially, because you spend more time with your co-workers than you do with your own friends. To have people at work who supports you at your job and also be there for the personal part of your life is really a great feeling. They decorated my cubicle, made a cake, bought me coffee and some even got me presents; which are things I certainly do not expect from co-workers. I am so thankful that I have met this group of co-workers of mine.
The of course celebration continues with Saturday night swim and sleep over at my friend’s house. Which was nice and relaxing and I felt like it is just what I needed. Then Sunday lunch with a small group of friends and Han Dynasty with some delicious fiery food and bubble tea.
However, it did not stop there. Friday, a box of goodies arrived at my PO Box. A box filled with Japanese snacks, Indonesia Fester pens and a takoyaki machine that I still have to figure out if it will work with US voltage or if it will blow up my power. It really just can’t get anymore special than this.
If you are wondering where is the partying? I don’t really party?. At least I am not one to host one? I would go to one or I would to a bar and drink but I am far from being a party animal, whatever that means. I rather be in a relaxed environment; especially when it is my birthday. Life is already crazy enough, I would rather be way from the crazy party scene on a “special” day.
With all that said, here are some view images captured through the lens of iPhone and Instagram stories.
